I SO agree with the comment above that addresses the fact that the "Judges" are unusually harsh on Black contestants. Let me say first, that I am TOTALLY sure that Heidi has no racial issues. I mean, come on, I do live in the world and I know who she is married to.
But I also know that producers of these shows control what the out comes are. And when you have someone as talentet as Korto was, who consistantly avoids the bottom, yet who NEVER wins a challenge...Even when they call her back in a Repeat of past Talented designers, and they give it to someone who is NOT designing clothes that the adverage woman would wear? Come on, this raises a LOT of eyebrows.
I will grant you, in the final hour, during Fashion Week, I do think her collection was a bit off center for the mass fashion industry, but when you look back during the season, and see the goregous clothes that this woman was turning out... That SO MANY women would shell out money for... it raises the question of race. I know if I ever make it as a writer, and my work garners the kind of recognition that gets me a spot on the Oscars, Emmeys, whatever, I will certainly call Korto to design my look. Project Runway...Get some colorblind judges!

I thought I was the only one that noticed the racial spurs from these judges. Korto was not only cheated out of one win but 2 as well as the young black man that made it to Grand Park on season one or two whom had great design but stood no chance with the white contestants. I have since stop watchn Project Runway. When they get real judges or just plain old fair ones then I will tune back in.

I think all the judges need to be changed out, I started whatching this show from the beginning and saw that the judges were all critical on BLACK designers rather than other races and at one point they didn't do enough of this or that and other times they are to good and to perfect, come on now give me a break if you don't want the talent of black people don't accept them on your show just call it what you are really going for an all white designers show ,from the beginning there have not been a single black winner it's almost like your judges have had something personal against black designers and if so ,they need to be changed out with black judges at least one so the black designers can have a fighting chances,I have wrote to this show before ounces about the same thing and I feel that something has to happen at this point and I just saw were ,Jay won as to the black designer.Give me a break

From the snippets we saw at the end of last week's show, the challenge looks pretty rough. I'm still bugges by the lady from INC who requested that everything be made in blue, then said to Christopher "a shirtdress should be made in white or cream". Um, when Christopher pitched it to her she knew the requirement was that it had to be blue. Did she not pay attention to herself? They should have maybe let Logan do his sweater dress (there was at least one other designer who pitched a sweater dress) and sweater cardigans are all the rage right now. So, I feel that the INC lady set Christopher up for failure.

Has anyone finished watching tonights episode? I'm really disappointed. This challenge was to create a costume for a movie genre. How can they say Chris's dress was Victorian????

You have t remember that Christopher got to choose his subject matter completely...it was a vampire wedding dress... So I think it had some Victorian references, but like Tim said...no sleeves would not be very Victorian. Does that help?

Hi all, I'm looking for the song that was played when Tim Gunn came to Portland to meet Leanne. It sounds like the beginning of an Indie song with guitars. it starts right after Tim leaves Kortos' place and finishes when he enters Leanne's place.
Any idea about the band's/song's name?
Regards,
Dan

I am a regular American woman. I have a chest, a butt, work like a beast, and run all around New York City and work in the tri-state area, as well. I love Marla Duran's signature shirts. They are comfortable enough to wear and slave throughout the day. The fabrics look good, despite a beating. They are casual, yet are unique and as dressy as you want them to be. They are as dressy and as professional as a jacket, but are easier to wear than a jacket. I have about 8 Marla Duran shirts now. I wear a some of Marla Duran's designs with a really cheap pair of black pants from the slale rack of Chico's with a great watch and bag, and I am perfect!!!!

RE: Love Marla's clothes

I love Marla's clothes, too. Marla has a store/studio in Bethlehem, PA and I live only 45 minutes from there. The first time I went into her store I was sure nothing would fit me. Marla is tiny and very thin, and I'm 5'8" tall and not skinny. Not fat, but not skinny. Normal. She told me that her clothes are cut full and it's the drape that makes them hang beautifully. I indulged her and tried on a few pieces. I was shocked at how wonderful they looked on me. Needless to say, I now own about 10 articles of Marla's designs, including two jackets, one pair of pants and a bunch of shirts. Every time I wear one of Marla's pieces I feel so chic and I get compliments all around. I feel like a million bucks in her shirts and jackets. Best of all, her clothes are absolutely affordable. I even had Marla make a jacket for me that was based on one I'd seen Lauren Bacall wear in a 40s movie called, "The Big Sleep." I had always loved that jacket and wondered why there was nothing like that around any more. So, I took a picture of the TV screen when the movie was on and brought my photo to Marla. She made her rendition of the jacket and it turned out great. I just love it. Thanks, Marla, for giving real women (like someone else said) with real curves a stylish alternative to the current styles designed for girls with no hips and no tummy.
